IMPRESS Factsheet Contest

In the Netherlands, 20,000 women die of cardiovascular diseases every year. In women, these diseases are more often missed and treatment still falls short. Particularly in women under 60 years of age, failure to diagnose or late diagnosis has a huge impact.

You can help to change this! We invite you to submit a text for a factsheet on gender differences in cardiovascular disease. Your contribution will contain clear and understandable information, written in Dutch for individuals without a medical background.

1. Investigate a specific topic related to sex and gender differences in cardiovascular disease. Identify needs and challenges and gather relevant information.
2. Submit a text of up to one page, presenting essential information in an accessible way. Make sure the text is suitable for both patients and healthcare professionals and is easy to understand (Dutch B1 level).
3. Feel free to add figures and images to support the information and make it more visually appealing. An experienced graphic designer will develop the factsheets based on your input.
4. Be sure to cite sources so that we can ensure the reliability of the information.
5. After receiving your application, our team of experts will perform a content check to ensure the factsheet is accurate and understandable.

• practice in writing comprehensible texts at a Dutch B1 level.

Additionally, you choose to participate in one of the following activities:

• talent trip to Edinburgh in autumn 2023;
• participation in the workshop "Public Speaking" on October 26, 2023;
• participation in the workshop by Tony Crabbe, a British business psychologist and author of "Busy: How to Thrive in a World of Too Much," on December 12, 2023;
• visit a congress/follow a course of your choice, amounting to 2000 euros;
• extend to your research, amounting to 2000 euros

To enter the IMPRESS Factsheet Contest, follow these steps:

1. Send an email to info@impressconsortium.nl with the following attachments before September 1, 2023:

• Your CV, describing your background and relevant experience.
• A motivation letter of up to 500 words, explaining why you would like to participate in the contest and the contribution you can make.
• A brief summary of your topic of no more than 200 words, providing an overview of what your factsheet will cover

By participating in the IMPRESS Factsheet Contest, you will contribute to raising social awareness and ensure that both patients and professionals are better informed about sex and gender differences in cardiovascular disease.
