The 10th DCVA–NLHI Translational Cardiovascular Research Meeting is behind us, and we are still grateful for the energy everyone brought to Utrecht. Over two days at the Jaarbeurs, hundreds of researchers, DCVA partners and stakeholders came together for a programme full of science, exchange and inspiration.
A big thank you to our keynote speakers, guests, sponsors and every participant who helped shape these days. The questions you raised, the work you shared and the conversations you started are exactly what this meeting is about. We are proud to see this community keep pushing cardiovascular research forward, together.
Day 1 opened with the Stichting Vrienden van de Cardiologie Fellowship Competition and a full round of parallel sessions across the breadth of the field. Prof. dr. Marcel Levi, President of the Dutch Research Council (NWO), set the tone with a keynote on why research only truly matters when it reaches the people it is meant for. To close the day, Twan Huys and Tamara Aipassa hosted a Late Night Show in which the panel tackled a question central to our work: how do we turn new targeted cardiovascular therapies into real care for patients?
Day 2 kicked off with the NVVC–NLHI Einthoven Competition, where three young cardiologists presented their 2025 dissertations, followed by the DCVA Leadership Program's "Finding your why" session. Two more rounds of parallel sessions covered everything from AI and machine learning to remote monitoring, registry-based research and regenerative medicine. Prof. dr. Mark Mercola (Stanford University), chair of the Netherlands Heart Institute's International Scientific Advisory Board, gave the closing keynote, before the meeting wrapped up with poster presentations, the awards ceremony and drinks.

During our conference, we had several prizes to give away. We are proud to announce the winners:
Wiek van Gilst Collaboration Award Winners:
Stefan Bassant and Pieter Glijnis
Einthoven Best Cardiovascular Dissertation Prize (Sponsored by NLHI in collaboration with NVVC)
