Double Dose - Marion van Sinttruije

Marion van Sinttruije worked as a business economist, now retired. She is carrier of the most common gene mutation that causes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a genetic cardiac muscle disease. She was diagnosed coincidentally and not treated by a HCM specialist. Disease progression remained unnoticed for a decade and this motivated her to reach out to other patients and contribute to spreading knowledge about hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, to prevent this from happening to them. This project that brings together researchers, cardiologists and patients focuses on research, but also aims at better care for patients of cardiac muscle diseases.
