Magdalena Harakalova is one of the junior PIs and work package leaders of the Double-Dose consortium. She studied Medicine in Slovakia and moved to Utrecht to work on the genetics of human disease where she obtained her PhD in 2013.
She is currently Assistant Professor of translational cardiovascular epigenomics at the Regenerative Medicine Utrecht (RMU) centre and Department of Cardiology of UMC Utrecht. Magdalena is a translational researcher with a strong track record in clinical genetics, next-generation sequencing techniques, omics (epigenetics, transcriptional regulation), and the molecular biology of variable phenotypes in genetic cardiomyopathies. She is also a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a platform for young academics who want to engage with and influence the university and society.
