Frank van Steenbeek is one of the junior PIs of the Double-Dose consortium. After his PhD, obtained in 2013, he was appointed assistant professor at the veterinary faculty of Utrecht University and the Regenerative Medicine Utrecht (RMU) center.
Frank is a multi-species genomicist with the unique opportunity to improve translational discoveries through the use of companion animal models from veterinary genetics. The combination of his expertise in genomics with the naturally occurring genetic disease model will aid in the bench-to-bedside translation of novel disease mechanisms. In 2019, Frank was appointed assistant professor in the Department of Cardiology of UMC Utrecht.
