COVID-19 research: avoid duplication

Register your COVID studies

In these days of crisis, many studies committed to identifying important questions about risk factors, disease progression and optimal treatment of COVID-19 and cardiovascular complications are initiated. To avoid duplication of efforts, unnecessary delay and small sample sizes, it’s important to communicate and to cooperate. You can now register your study, registry or initiative with the Dutch CardioVascular Alliance which has already started a national initiative, the CAPACITY COVID Registry.

The increased morbidity and mortality in COVID-19 patients with cardiovascular disease as well as the observed cardiovascular complications in COVID-19 patients without prior cardiovascular problems are alarming. To give these patients the best possible care and to be prepared for future outbreaks, we need to know more about these patients and the best practices for treating them.

Cardiological organisations, united in the Dutch CardioVascular Alliance, developed a protocol to collect the cardiovascular data we need. Please join us collecting this vital information, to immediately learn from patients that are being treated right now. The CAPACITY COVID Registry is an extension of the registry released by the International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC) and WHO in response to the emerging outbreak of COVID-19.

Are you working on a registry, or a study to answer a COVID-19 / cardiovascular question? Register your study and/or join us, to avoid duplication of efforts.
