1️⃣ Anke Vervoord 🎙️ Join us in welcoming Anke Vervoord, the Managing Director of Harteraad. Anke is the Managing Director of the Harteraad, the Dutch patient association for people with heart and vascular diseases and the people they love. Her extensive experience in patient advocacy and dedication to improving the lives of those affected make her talk a must-attend event!

2️⃣ Prof. dr. John Kastelein 🎙️ Prepare to be amazed by the knowledge and expertise of Prof. dr. John Kastelein, Emeritus professor of Medicine, previous chair of the Department of Vascular Medicine, AMC, University of Amsterdam.

John Kastelein is emeritus professor of Medicine, co-founder of UniQure and Xenon, both Nasdaq listed Biotech companies and currently is founder and Chief Science Officer (CSO) of NewAmsterdam Pharma, which received a Nasdaq listing in January of 2023. Valorisation of scientific ideas into Biotech companies is the specialty and the lifetime work of prof Kastelein, which makes his lecture a go-to event!

3️⃣ Prof. dr. Sjoerd Repping 🎙️– Professor of Sensible Care at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Chair of ZE&GG (Care Evaluation and Appropriate Use) program at Zorginstituut Nederland.

Sjoerd Repping leads the Care Evaluation and Appropriate Use program at Zorginstituut Nederland. Together with the Dutch Healthcare Authority, this organization investigates how healthcare can continue to improve and remain accessible to everyone in the Netherlands. Repping's goal is to make hospital care increasingly scientifically based. Get ready to gain valuable knowledge from his expertise!

4️⃣ Dr. Chahinda Ghossein-Doha 🎙️ Get ready to be inspired by the passion and dedication of Dr. Chahinda Ghossein-Doha, a cardiologist and researcher specializing in women's specific health. Through her research and her foundation, Queen of Hearts, she tirelessly advocates for women's cardiovascular health. Her talk will shed light on crucial issues and empower us to make a difference.

5️⃣ Prof. dr. Chris Gale 🎙️- Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Honorary Consultant Cardiologist, and Co-Director of the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics at the University of Leeds.

We are thrilled to have Prof. dr. Chris Gale, an esteemed Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, as one of our distinguished speakers. Every year the Netherlands Heart Institute awards fellowships to young scientists, allowing them to work abroad for up to a year. The fellowship program is supported by the Foundation Friends of Cardiology (Vrienden van de Cardiologie)

During the 7th Translational Cardiovascular Research Meeting of the DCVA and the Netherlands Heart Institute, three applicants will be invited to present their proposal. The awarding session will be during the closing session on Friday the 23rd of June 2023.

Meet our candidates and their research proposals:

All candidates will present their proposals during the 7th DCVA NLHI Translational Cardiovascular Research Meeting on Thursday 22nd June and the awarding session will take place on Friday 23rd June.

During the 7th Translational Cardiovascular Research Meeting (on Friday the 23rd of June), the NLHI NVVC Einthoven Dissertation prizes will be awarded. Anyone who got his/her doctoral degree in 2022 in the Netherlands on a cardiovascular topic could compete for this prize.

The jury has selected the following 3 candidates:

• Aernoud Fiolet: ‘Colchicine in Coronary Disease. Using the available to enable the sustainable’
  
• Michiel Henkens: ‘Improving diagnosis and risk stratification of cardiomyopathies across the ejection fraction spectrum – The past, present and future’
• Jorrit Lemkes: ‘Timing of coronary angiography in acute coronary syndromes – The TRANSIENT and COACT trial’

The candidates will present their thesis on Friday the 23rd of June during the morning session (8:45 - 9:25). The awarding session will be on the same day in the afternoon during the closing session (start at 16:15).

At the 7th Translational Cardiovascular Research Meeting (22-23 June), young researchers will have the opportunity to present and discuss their most exciting and recent data with key leaders in the cardiovascular field. The best presentations will be awarded poster prizes (€300, €200 and €100).

A maximum of 35 posters will be accepted and presented. From those 35 posters 10 outstanding candidates will be selected to present their posters during the moderated poster session (June 23rd).

We can’t wait to see the innovative research you have to share so don’t wait until the last minute and submit your poster here. First in, first served. The call will be closed after 35 submissions.

Abstracts will be selected by their quality before June 16th, 2023. A maximum of 10 candidates will be invited to present their work as a moderated poster session during lunch on Friday 23rd of June (12:25-13:25), and three winners will be chosen and honored during the closing session (16:15-17:30).
