Margien Boels started in June 2020 as Impact Officer at DCVA. In this role she will guide researchers of DCVA in their valorisation projects by identifying opportunities, leverage the cardiovascular research and entrepreneurial network and help establish concrete initiatives.
Margien obtained her PhD at Leiden University Medical Center in the field of diabetic nephropathy with an emphasis on the treatment of vascular damage. Upon finishing her PhD, she pursued her career at commercial companies Eli Lilly and Nutricia, where she held several medical positions in different areas of expertise, all with a focus on chronic diseases. Now she is dedicated to get valuable research to impactful start-ups to help patients as soon and as good as possible.
