08-10-2025

On 8 October, the Dutch Cardiovascular Alliance (DCVA) brought together a diverse network of academic researchers, startups, and established companies at Karel V for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to public–private partnerships in cardiovascular research.

Connecting academia and industry

The event created valuable opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and explore new collaborations. Through lively discussions and thematic roundtables, participants highlighted how cross-sector partnerships can accelerate innovation and improve cardiovascular health.

It was inspiring to see academia and industry come together with a shared ambition to drive progress in cardiovascular research — from early-stage ideas to real-world impact. The energy in the room reflected the strength of collaboration and the potential it holds for future developments.

Strengthening partnerships for the future

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making the event such a success — Pim van der Harst, Marianne Biegstraaten-Meeuws, Jolande Zijlstra, Karin Eizema, Rob Smeets, Chantal Linders, Melchior Nierman, Jeanine Roeters van Lennep, Gerard Pasterkamp, Geert Boink, Jonas de Jong, Robert Tieleman, Hester den Ruijter, and Rob de Ree — and to our event partners Health~Holland, Vereniging Innovatieve Geneesmiddelen, Nefemed, Hartstichting, and the Netherlands Heart Institute.

Together, we continue to strengthen public–private partnerships and drive innovation in cardiovascular research, building a strong foundation for future breakthroughs in cardiovascular health.
