
The Dutch CardioVascular Alliance (DCVA) warmly welcomes two new members to its Supervisory Board: Conny Helder and Monika Hollander. With their extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector, they bring valuable expertise and fresh perspectives to the DCVA.
Jolien Roos-Hesselink, Managing Director of the DCVA, comments: “With Conny and Monika, we welcome two highly experienced supervisors. Their expertise in the political landscape and primary care is impressive and aligns perfectly with the DCVA’s ambitions.”
Conny Helder looks forward to her new role: “I am pleased to contribute to the further development of the DCVA and innovation in cardiovascular care. I look forward to a productive collaboration with the other members of the Supervisory Board.”
Monika Hollander also expresses her enthusiasm: “It is an honour to be part of the DCVA. Together, we aim to strengthen, broaden, and advance cardiovascular care in the Netherlands.”

Within the Supervisory Board, they will help bridge the gap between policy, practice, and innovation. They bring extensive knowledge in politics, healthcare organisation, change management, and academic expertise – all essential to fostering collaboration and driving renewal. Their experience will support the DCVA in future-proofing the care pathway and improving prevention, treatment, and aftercare in cardiovascular health.

About Conny Helder
Conny Helder served as Minister for Long-Term Care and Sport (2022–2024), and in 2024 as Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport. In these roles, she focused on creating a future-proof healthcare system, with emphasis on innovation, ageing populations, and workforce retention. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was a visible advocate for elderly care, in part through her leadership at tanteLouise. She previously served as CEO of SGE and held several leadership positions in hospitals. Helder has broad experience across secondary and tertiary care, elderly care, primary care, and care for people with disabilities. She specialises in change management and healthcare innovation, a common thread throughout her career. Since 2025, she has held several roles, including Chair of the Supervisory Board of OLVG Hospital in Amsterdam.

About Monika Hollander
Monika Hollander is a general practitioner and Chief Medical Officer at the Amsterdam General Practitioners Alliance, where she focuses on innovating chronic primary care through the Proactive Chronic Care (PCZ) programme. She also leads the Academic Collaborative Centre for General Practice and the Academic Network of General Practice at Amsterdam UMC. At Amsterdam UMC, she heads a research group focusing on diabetes and cardiometabolic diseases. Previously, she worked at UMC Utrecht for over 11 years, where she led the academic general practice programme and was involved in the development of education, care, and research. Hollander has played a central role in numerous national and international projects related to cardiovascular prevention, diagnostics, and care innovation. She has extensive experience in integrated care, academic networks, and connecting clinical practice, research, and policy. Future-proofing primary care is a central theme throughout her work.
