Recap DCVA launch

The Dutch CardioVascular Alliance was festively launched at the Muntgebouw in Utrecht on September 12th. The event was presented by health journalist Harmke Pijpers.

Prof. Wiek van Gilst explained the history of the DCVA. A panel of DCVA-experts discussed how the twelve partners will collaborate to reach their ambitions. Prof. Ronald Plasterk, chief scientific officer of myTomorrows, gave his view on how to speed up the process of bringing health solutions to patients and shared a personal story about his own experience with cardiovascular care. Keynote speaker prof. Alexander Rinnooy Kan, politician and chairman of Big Data Alliance, beautifully illustrated the benefit of working together, connecting data and prevention. Finally Wouter Duinisveld, who is one of the three people in the world to finish a triathlon with a donor heart, officially launched DCVA.
